TYYNTÄ ENNEN MYRSKYÄ

 

Tässä vähän lisää Austin Soleil:n ottamia kuvia. Näissä on hiukan myrskyisä tunnelma, josta tykkään kovasti. Näistä mun lemppari on ehdottomasti selfiekuva, ja se onkin itseasiassa ainoa yhteiskuva Sydneyn oopperatalon kanssa. Yleensä se on se tärkein asia, jonka kanssa täällä tahdotaan kuva, mutta jostain syystä se on vielä toistaiseksi jäänyt multa ottamatta. Täytyy varmaan joku päivä korjata asia ja lähteä pienelle turistikierrokselle kameran kanssa.

Taking a selfie with the opera house... That's my favourite photo out of these ones, all taken by Austin Soleil. These photos have a dramatic atmosphere, and I really like them. The selfie photo is actually the only photo of me and the Opera House. It's kind of funny that I've been here in Sydney more than a month already, and yet I haven't taken a single photo with the most famous attraction here. I guess I'll have to fix that and take a tourist tour with my camera.

Taking a selfie with the opera house... That's my favourite photo out of these ones, all taken by Austin Soleil. These photos have a dramatic atmosphere, and I really like them. JERVIS BAY NATIONAL PARK

 

Hiukan lisää kuvia Jervis Bay:n kansallispuistosta. Puisto on täynnä salaisia rantoja ja huikeita kallioita. Keikuttiin taas jyrkänteiden reunoilla, ja olihan siinä riski pudotakin. Näissäkin kuvissa alla ei ole kuin aaltojen piiskaamia kivenlohkareita. Sisäänpääsy maksu puistoon oli $11 per auto, joten mielestäni hinta oli ihan kohtuullinen näistä maisemista. Sen kun jakaa kolmeen pekkaan, niin eihän siinä jää hinnaksi juuri mitään. Lukekaahan enkunkielinen osio, nyt laiskottaa vähän niin ei jaksa kääntää noita ajatuksia enää suomen kielelle.

Here's a couple more photos from Jervis Bay National Park. The park is full of hidden beaches and stunning cliffs. The entrance fee to the national park was $11 per car, so I think the price is reasonable for all these beautiful views. We were stupid again and went sitting on all these cliffs that had nothing but rocks and the ocean underneath. Something could have happened, but thankfully all of us appeared to have a good balance. I've always been a little scared of heights. The fear doesn't apply to high buildings, but rather to places where you can actually fall (cliffs, ladders hhaha). I'm 90% sure this fear leads back to my childhood when our dad used to take us to all sorts of high places, and then pretend to catch me at the edge of the cliff. Well, apparently I've overcome at least some part of my fear now. Still afraid of ladders though.

Here's a couple more photos from Jervis Bay National Park. Keskiviikkona sain ystävältäni Ross:lta tekstiviestin, lähtisinkö road tripille Jervis Bayhyn. Mulle sattui juuri tuolle päivälle vapaata, joten eihän tällaisesta tilaisuudesta voinut kieltäytyä. Jervis Bayhyn on noin kolmen tunnin ajomatka Sydneystä, mutta matka kului rattoisasti jutellen ja musiikkia kuunnellen. Mulle on vielä hieman epäselvää, onko Jervis Bay:n hiekka toiseksi valkoisinta vai valkoisinta maailmassa. Sen kuitenkin tiedän, että silmiin sattui rannalle mennessä. Myös vesi kirkkaampi kuin mitä olen koskaan ennen nähnyt. Heiteltiin jenkkifutista, polskittiin meressä ja otettiin arskaa. Halusin pitää näiden kuvien muokkauksen todellisuuden rajoissa, eli tolta tuolla ihan oikeastikin näytti. Biitseilyn jälkeen lähdettiin kiertelemään kansallispuistoa, mutta siitä lisää myöhemmin!

On Wednesday I got a text from my buddy Ross, asking if I'd like to join on a road trip to Jervis Bay. I happened to have a day off on Thursday, so there was nothing else I could say but YES! I'm still not sure if the  sand of Jervis Bay is the whitest or second whitest sand in the world, but what I do know is that my eyes hurt when we first went to the beach. Also the water was the clearest I've ever seen. We spent our time at the beach by throwing football, swimming and tanning. It's always a little different when you go to the beach with guys instead of girls, because with girls we usually just tan for four hours and swim maybe once. Now it was the other way around, but I like it! I didn't want to over edit these photos (there was also no need for that) because I wanted to show the real feel of the place. Therefore these photos indicate the view at the beach quite realistically. After the beach life we headed to explore the national park, but I will post more photos from there later!

MAROUBRA BEACH & WATSON'S BAY

 

Tässä muutamat kuvat Maroubra Beachilta (ensimmäiset neljä) ja Watsons Bayltä. Maroubra Beach on todella aliarvostettu, sillä minusta paikka oli ihana! Mukavan hiljainen verrattona esimerkiksi Bondiin tai Coogee:een, kauppoja oli vain muutama eikä ollut ollenkaan sellaista turistimeininkiä. Me likey! Ranta oli iso ja vesi kirkasta, myös aallot vaikuttivat hyviltä esim surffauksen kannalta! Tänne palaan kyllä vielä uudestaan, varsinkin kun kyseiselle biitsille on vain vajaa puolen tunnin matka kotoa. Watsons Bay kuvat on otettu photoshoottien lomassa (click), ihastuin näihin kallioihin ihan täysillä! 

Eilen otin itseäni niskasta kiinni ja liityin viimein salille. Ihan meidän asunnon viereen on avattu uusi 24h sali, ja sain tosi hyvän liittymisdiilin - vain $15 viikossa. Sali ei ole vielä virallisesti auki, joten saan käydä siellä ilmaiseksi avajaisiin asti. Tosin ilmastointi ei vielä toimi, joten voin kertoa, että oli vähän hikiset treenit eilen kun ulkona oli 29 astetta lämpöä ja meinkäläinen ihan rapakunnossa.

First four photos are from Maroubra beach, which is very underrated! There are only few shops and not that many people, which makes the beach nice and quiet. The beach is long, water bright and the waves seemend perfect for surfing. I'll definitely go back here, especially because it's only half an hour away from my home. The other photos are from the amazing Watsons Bay, I have fallen in love with cliffs like this!

Yesterday I finally joined a gym. A new Snap Fitness 24/7 was opened next door and I only need to pay $15 per week. They aren't officially open yet, so I can visit the gym for free until the grand opening. It's just that their air conditioning isn't working yet, so I'm telling you it was a little hot to work out when it was 29 degrees outside...

Mua on vähän harmittanut, kun mulla ei ole ollut ketään valokuvauksesta innostunutta kaveria, joten blogin sisällöntuotto on jäänyt harmittavan vähin. Päätin kuitenkin ottaa ohjat omiin käsiini, ja niinpä tein Facebook postauksen, jossa pyysin valokuvauksesta kiinnostuneita ottamaan yhteyttä. Sovin sunnuntaille kuvaustreffit Watsons Bayhyn, ja näistä tuli mielestäni tosi kivoja! Kaikki tämän postauksen krediti siis Austin Soleil:lle (click!), myös uuden bannerin kuva on hänene käsialaansa. Näitä kuvia on tulossa vielä lisää, ja koska molemmat tykättiin lopputuloksesta, päätettiin tehdä sama juttu vielä uudestaan. Harmiksemme kuvauspäivämme oli melkoisen pilvinen, joten ensi kerralle katsotaan joku satavarma aurinkoinen päivä.

Here's a few better than usual -photos. It's a shame I don't really have many friends interested in photography, so creating content for the blog hasn't been very active. Finally I decided to start doing something about that, so I made a Facebook post suggesting that people interested in taking photos could contact me. It wasn't long until I set a photo session with a nice German guy and we went to Watsons Bay together. Unfortunately it was very cloudy, but since we both are happy with the results, we might try again on a little sunnier day. All photo credits to Austin Soleil (click!), the new banner also by him!

Sovin sunnuntaille kuvaustreffit Watsons Bayhyn, ja näistä tuli mielestäni tosi kivoja!
